Double row self-aligning deep groove ball bearings have one common sphered concave raceway in the outer ring and two raceway grooves in the inner ring. They are part of the group of self-aligning bearings.
This type of bearings have excellent high-speed and light load performance, low friction, permit the compensation of static and dynamic angular misalignments, skewing between the inner and outer ring within certain limits. For example self-retaining ball bearings are insensitive to angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused with shaft deflection.
