Simple and robust design, precise positioning of rollers in pressed steel cage windows. The machined outer ring has two guide flanges, an annular groove and lubrication holes. There is no inner ring; the raceway is a hardened and ground shaft of the appropriate diameter. Designed to withstand one-sided radial load.

The needle roller bearing of this design can withstand significant axial loads and rotational speeds. The axial displacement of the shaft is limited only by the width of the raceway on the shaft.
